ABOUT ROB
​
Rob Capstick is a specialist Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon. Rob moved from the Hunter Valley in rural NSW to Victoria to attend medical school, and graduated from Monash University with honours in 2012. During his studies he spent an extra research year at Oxford University in the UK.
Rob trained in all aspects of plastic surgery including the management of skin cancer, hand surgery, microsurgery, burn management, breast reconstruction, and head and neck reconstruction. He received awards from the University of Melbourne for excellence in surgical anatomy and obtained the highest grade for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons clinical examination in 2017. In 2024 Rob undertook a fellowship at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, gaining subspecialty skills in craniofacial surgery. Rob has a particular interest in facial trauma, head and neck reconstruction, rhinoplasty, and facial feminisation surgery.
Following the completion of his specialist training, Rob relocated to Geelong where he lives with his young family. He is passionate about the education of junior medical staff and has an ongoing interest in research. Outside of medicine Rob enjoys skiing and scuba diving as well as gardening, food and wine.
